Fagradalsfjall is a tuya volcano formed in the Last Glacial Period on the Reykjanes Peninsula, around 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Reykjavík.


Exclusive sounds!


Each of these sound postcards has a different sound. They represent the two phases of the volcano's eruption:

  • first it starts to rumble and ejects its lava (the thunder)
  • and then, at the end, all the small particles of lava that have been thrown up into the sky fall back down after having cooled down and fossilized into a rain of tiny pebbles (the rain).



Send the most original postcards to your friends, or keep them for yourself. Each product contains the same one-minute sound we recorded, which means you won't hear this soundscape anywhere else!


The photos on the postcards are taken by us at the time of the recording of the sound. More than an aesthetic value, they are intended to help you immerse yourself in the sound, and to give you visual cues when listening.
